PREPARING FOR YOUR VOLUNTEER WORK DAY
Below are a few things you can do to make sure you can get
down and dirty as fast as possible on your volunteer day:
1) Download, print, and bring with you our volunteer waiver form.
18 and up Waiver | Minor Waiver (Must be signed by legal gaurdians)
2) Review our helpful tips for volunteers:
-
River clean-ups can be messy and require hard work.
Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or even tattered. -
Volunteers are urged to wear closed-toe, rubber soled shoes, such as work boots
that can be worn in and around water. - Flip-flop, sandals, and sneakers are discouraged.
-
Cloth gloves are normally provided for each volunteer, however, feel free to bring
a more durable, waterproof pair if you like. -
Long sleeve shirts and long pants are recommended despite the weather, for protection they provide against
the sun, poisonous or thorny plants and biting insects. - Wearing a hat and eye protection is also recommended.
-
Stay hydrated, bring plenty of water and also a snack to keep your energy up, though most times those
items are provided by the river cleanup coordinator.
