Turnbull Creek in Kingston Springs

February 22, 2002

The River Restoration Corps did a stream bank restoration project in Kingston Springs on the Turnbull Creek Sat. Feb. 22, 2002.  See the article in the Wednesday, Feb. 26th  issue of the Ashland City Times.  Laurie Cooper, Kingston Springs city manager, has been working closely with John McFadden who directs our River Restoration Program.  This project is one of five we supported with our grant from the state Nonpoint Source Program. There are two sites we are working on with Kingston Springs, and this article features the one on Turnbull Creek.

Both the main Harpeth and Turnbull Creek in Kingston Springs are suffering from active bank erosion.  John McFadden  worked with Kingston Springs and coordinated technical assistance from Terry Horne at NRCS and others, including our members, like John Ryman who is on the parks commission for Kingston Springs.
THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE!

Remember: we'll be doing more of this (and other restoration) and we'd LOVE to have you join us on our next project!
