96 people chose to honor their moms with this special outing. One canoe boasted three generations as it was captained by a grandmother, her daughter, and her three grandaughters!!
Everyone met at Burns Park in Kingston Springs to enjoy a delicious lunch catered by MacK and Kate’s restaurant before launching on to the Harpeth in canoes supplied by Foggy Bottom Canoe Rentals.
The day was perfect – bright sunshine and clear skies overhead as we paddled a beautiful stretch of river and enjoyed spotting sunbathing turtles, flycatchers, kingfishers, and Canadian geese. The rest stop at a gravel bar gave kids of all ages the chance to float in the river and try their hand at skipping stones.
