Featured Guest John Hiatt was in top form at the Harpeth River Hootenanny this year and guests were glad they had come out despite the pouring rain and the lightning.
An estimated 560 people braved the Tennessee autumn weather to enjoy this private concert by Mr. Hiatt and fine food by Constant Craving Caterers at Orrin and Lee Ann Ingram's Riverview Farm in Williamson County. While wet feet were unavoidable, numerous large tents provided a haven in the country for this unique event.
A special thank you to our sponsors who made this event such a success:
Presenting Sponsor - 1st Tennessee
River Guardian - Darrell Waltrip
River Defender - Trillium Ventures, Inc.
HRWA Events Manager Julia Halford prooved her mettle yet again, organizing everything meticulously to ensure that everyone had a good time no matter the weather. An army of volunteers also helped make this event possible and we send a special thanks out to them as well.
Held each year (since 2004) in September, the Harpeth River Hootenanny! is a fundraiser for HRWA that includes live music (like local musician John Hiatt), fine cuisine, and open air along the banks of the Harpeth River.
2005 Hootenanny a Huge Success!
In 2005, the full moon was rising over misty fields along the banks of the Harpeth River as the party was getting started. The large tent sent a warm welcome from beneath its edges as guests strolled across the grass, visiting the campfire and inspecting the wide array of silent auction items.
