It is the policy of HRWA to provide a safe work environment free of all forms of harassment and/or discrimination. Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, visual, or physical conduct that is considered offensive. Sexual and/or other forms of harassment or discrimination refer to behaviors that are personally offensive, impair morale, and interfere with the work or effectiveness of employees. Employees who believe that they are the victims of or witnesses to any form of harassment or discrimination should report the incident immediately by contacting his/her supervisor or the Executive Director. If the employee’s incident involves the Executive Director, the employee should report the incident to the Chairman of the Board of Directors. In response to every complaint, HRWA will take prompt investigatory actions, and it will take preventative and corrective action where necessary. Complaints will be held in strict confidence and disclosed on a need-to-know basis.
Individuals who report any concerns of this nature may be asked to make a written statement and/or sign a report containing a detailed description of any incident. All statements and reports will be kept confidential. All complaints will be investigated confidentially, to the degree possible, by the management of HRWA and promptly resolved. In the event that it is determined that harassment and/or discrimination has occurred, appropriate action will be taken, up to and including discharge of the person guilty of harassment and/or discrimination.
Employees who report an incident of harassment or discrimination shall not be retaliated against in any way. Any employee who engages in conduct that is in violation of this policy is subject to discipline, up to and including termination.
